Actually, a phone is anyday better than your wife because,
1. It does not care how many other phones you have had, or have.
2. It does not mind if you switch to another phone for some time and then return to it.
3. It does not mind of you sleep with another phone, or even your wife.
4. It does not mind if you mute it.
5. You can switch it off, mute it or otherwise just turn it into a zombie by turning on the "Airplane mode".
6. You can change it and get a new one without any legal complications.
