I live in a 3 storey building and the woman upstairs always trying to tease me. She is constantly pounding with a small hammer or something slowly at 6 a.m. or at 4.30 am. Lot of things have also happend in last 6-7 years. So what should i do? im angry, sad and depressed. It is having effect on my health. I would like to get views from u all.

There are 3, or more, college boys living above me and they, and their friends and girlfriends, get home around 10:00 in the evenings and don't settle down until around 4 in the morning. One of them lifts weights and lets it drop to the floor. I about have heart-attack each time that happens.
My neighbors below me scream and curse at each other from the moment they wake up every day until the moment they go to sleep. They have a mentally challenged young boy who then sobs and cries the entire time, they slam doors.
It is a living hell and I understand about the depression and sadness. I stay at the office many times late into the night so that I don't have to go home. It is a rare night that I get more than 4 hours sleep and with my hypothyroidism, I should be receiving at least 7 hours for my thyroid balance.
My lease ends at the end of July. I will be moving if I can make it that long without losing my sanity.

She is a woman and I dont know how to stop her and her husband. Granade is good idea! But cant do that. I sleep with thrusting cotton in my ears but I still hear it. My heart has become fearful of that sound. my heart beats faster or some fear runs throuhgh my stomach. Im worried about my mother. She had shouted from balcony but as she shouts they do it more. Thinking of going to polic now.

Earplugs aren't very effective. Slamming doors, dropping weights, screaming, don't block out this type of noise.Maybe he should invest in some earplugs then..cheaper option.

Yes, especially the older one gets.
In my 20s, 30s, and even in my early 40s, I could function on less sleep.
The slamming of doors above and below have knocked objects off my walls and shelves.
Yesterday, we had an unusally warm day in St. Louis.
I was so delighted to open some windows and let in fresh air....that lasted for 30 minutes, as the neighbors downstairs had their windows open as well.

This is a terrible situation...my friend went through this and he completely lost it at times.
In the end he became clinically depressed...which then in a strange way helped him get rehoused
Go see your Dr and tell him that its making you ill. Then take it to the courts.
If your local council (local govt) is existent and active..report it to the noise pollution department/environmental health too
But before this send a letter to the person and keep a copy. The courts will want to know you did try to sort it out before going the legal route.
