I almost drowned at the age of 5. I then made an effort to learn to swim as fast as possible. I learned through school 6am in the morning and 5pm at night every week day, up to half way through matriculation year.
Now I hardly ever swim anymore, the upkeep on a private pool is too tiring, it keeps on going green with the regular rains, but I still recommend it as the best exercise, next to Yoga.
Now I try to fit in some Yoga in my busy schedule and it is not as often as I would like. I will do it hopefully more often when I am retired.
I've been doing yoga on a regular basis for around three years now. I have never taken part in any kind of physical excersise that has dome me so much good for seemingly so little effort. It's good for the body and as a bonus, good for the mind also.

I want to spend more time at it, but there is always something more important to do, at present.
bodleing2: I attend a class once or twice a week and have been for nearly three years. Sometimes I can't make it, but it's always on my priority list of things to do.
My eldest aunt is 70 and I swear she acts and looks like in her fifties ,,her yoga ,and lifestyle,
Travelling when she can and over all mental attitude has taken years off her,
The yoga she says totally distresses her,
Take alot of yoga to calm me tho,
I'm more relaxed in water.
Yoga in water,
,
Yes I've heard off loads of people that yoga is very beneficial.
