So, I'm straight up honest (I have nooo... filter). I've been called rude multiple times LOL so much for that but I don't care rolling on the floor laughing I rather be honest than being a hypocrite two-faced person... If folks don't like my attitude (they can stfo) <--- YES I have a bad attitude, I'm cold hearted and wont apologize cuz nobody apologized for making me this way. scold Nowadays, u cant understand folks, they want honesty... but complain when u tell them what u think of them.... Yet, they don't want hypocrites (this I would never be).... What are ur thoughts on these types of behaviors?? Would u rather someone honest even though it might hurt u sometimes, or someone who u just cannot trust??

i had a court day the other day, and the court secretary told me 'it's good to be honest, but not that much'. i find this ludicrous....good luck. 48000 years of civilization and we still haven't figured out honesty is the way to go.

honesty...

i think each person has their 'own truth' based on their perception of things. and even 'their truth' can be worded or presented in different ways.
it gets murky here.... laugh

i want honesty that is delivered to me with compassion. grin

compassion is overrated. and mostly referred to by people who wont give a crap. empathy might be a better term... respex jono7 this is not personal, just my views and experience.

empathy suggests a common experience. if one has no idea how the other is feeling, or experiencing...how do they deliver honesty with empathy?

that's why i choose compassion. i try to come from a heart place, although i'm first to admit my ego often gets in the way..laugh

and with respect is my choice as well. i don't feel a need to be right, nor agree with everyone. as you have mentioned, everyone's experience is difference and deserves respect.

I wonder if the word 'compassion' has different nuances for different people.

I've seen it defined in more than one way. dunno

SandraYelitzza2: And I love ur opinion!!! I'm the same way!!! If u weren't too old for me xD I'd take u for coffee or something things just got HOT in here And I see what u r saying bout cats and dogs. I love animals more than I love my own specie (sadly)... Humans are just egoistic.... And yesterday 2 girls called me rude because I told this other girl (she asked for opinion on what to do) the truth. She said she was treated bad in previous relationships, and now that she's got a good guy she's falling off of him. I told her that, that's the reason why many guys turn into Dbags... that she's gonna mess him up, that she needed to let him know, let him go before she hurts him more, and I told her straight up that he deserves better. Then another girl told me that I didn't know wat her situation was... Im like "Oh yes, I know it, she already said it... the real victim here is not her, it's her boyfriend... I'm on the guy's side" and apparently, that makes me rude xD

Or maybe just immaturely assuming and lacking in empathy based upon your own limited experience and knowledge. dunno laugh

so true.

so i googled it...laugh

when i use the word compassion i mean sensitivity and kindness, not pity. i'm talking about a way of 'being'. i am not talking about joining causes. i don't respect folks who's walk doesn't match their talk...but i treat them respectfully. does that make sense? not sure if i'm explaining myself very well here.

but while we're on the topic of honesty...

i find it much easier to be passionate than compassionate. grin

But folks never listen if u r nice, have u ever been there done that?? rolling on the floor laughing Is not bein immature. Being honest and immature is not the same thing. Now, hypocrites r more immature than honest folks don't u think?? They often talk behind ur back and wont tell u things right at ur face. If u like those folks better then oh well... dunno

i smile a bit now..... i know for a fact they dont like us brutally honest.
i learned a saying the past few years that i have moved into the countryside.
the saying goes "go die and leave me at peace".... at first it sounded extremely violent,
but truth be told i find it more and more applicable to people that like half truths.
btw what's wrong with my age ? i'm 34 i'm not a dinosaur! young guns full on!

'Compassion' is not the most transpicuous of words...unlike you last comment.

Thanks for sharing, Jono. giggle

I like this quote...

“Tact is the ability to formulate your thoughts, carefully choose your words and effectively communicate them without offending anyone. This is the most difficult skill to achieve, the best skill anyone can possess, and the most important skill in our daily lives.”

jac_the_gripper: And sometimes a quiet 'please go away' is more efficient.

Mind, it helps having maniac eyes if you're gonna pull that one off.
