Track16: We are all crazy in our own way

Absolutely Track, and why not life is a lot better that way, my thoughts.

But why are women crazier? Is my question.

Thanks Trac.

Sounds like proof that women are crazy and that men lose their sanity drinking and such to cope with it.grin

On a more serious note; I try to be careful with studies of any type or fashion. It's a very microscopic study with attempted applications to a majority. Does it break it down into regions? Maybe men are higher in a different region.

At any rate; people individually go through very different things in their lives that can lead to negatives and positives. Those are the things that need to be kept up with more than anything for various treatments. How many were already on medications for other things? Any other disabilities or ailments? Any major differences in what and how they were dealing with their lives?...etc?

Looking at it from a biological standpoint, men are driven by testosterone and women by estrogen, maybe estrogen is more prone to "craziness" than testosterone. That could be a complete load of crap what I just said but it just a possibility.

There's a lot of reasons, I'm sure Trac but that is a good one.

One explanation could be the woman's natural and pronounced tendency to wallow. If you dwell on yourself for long enough you'll find that everybody is sick.

Another explanation is that social atomisation and isolation affects women more deeply because men have more of a lone-wolf mentality. Loneliness does not drive men crazy, depressed or neurotic like it does women.

Are you talking of mental illness? My older sister had a nervous breakdown when she was 16 yrs old and had to be placed in a hospital. She also had to take meds.

Maybe because women are traditionally the carers and nurturers, and men the hunters/ providers.

Caring involves more emotional/mental effort, providing involves more physical effort.

That which you use more is more likely to be damaged.

I don't think we are crazier :) We are made by nature to take many things in life. We all have our bugs and we are made unique (each person story for it self), I don't think there is some rule about craziness.

Thanks for your input dragooneer.

My personal thinking goes along with that. Maybe men is stronger when it comes to coping up with situation that leads to losing one's mind. Or perhaps the drinking helps them more resilient?wave

That is a good way to look at it Molly. Indeed, we the women are nurturers and I am not sure if our exposure or the loads of our responsibilities affect our moods to be crazy or crazier...

TheRedSquirrel87: All women are half-crazy half the time - whatever the average amount of craziness in a person the woman is closer to that. she hugs the average on lunacy as she does on most things - but it takes a man to be a real psychopath(most times).

In other words neurotic is woman and psychotic is man. Neurotic is far more common than psychotic, but also far less extreme. Women tend less to extremes due to being more co-operative, equal and averse to risk and men are more extreme due to being more competitive, unequal and up for a gamble. Men range all the way from Ned Flanders to Donald Trump, the most sane to the least sane individual, whereas most women(especially today)have a touch of Sylvia Plath hence being so heavily medicated.

Now that's a way to look at it Obs in other words the depth of man's craziness is truly a dangerous level where's women are just that being harmless?

If neurotic is wanting two mutually exclusive things at one and the same time, then I'm neurotic as hell. I'll be flying back and forth between one mutually exclusive thing and another for the rest of my days ~ Sylvia Plath

Show me a woman who doesn't want two mutually exclusive things? A man's crazy idea is normally a crazy idea in and of itself, the ideas of women become crazy(i.e. neurotic chaos)when they marry them up with an incompatible idea. Notice how it is normal for a woman to contradict herself within the same paragraph and the ideal qualities they look for in men are almost completely contradictory in a meaningful way: the confident and assertive man with a sensitive side who is kind to her with a reputation as a bad boy.

Defending borders in the middle east and letting our own collapse is an example of the feminine and neurotic contradictory condition.

Sending millions to die in a gas chamber? That's men.

Things get weird when men and women come to champion and cheerlead for the psychology of the adversary. When men take on the contradictory condition and women take on the black and white. The male feminist are the least reasonable and you can't persuade him to revise his own ideas because they're not his own ideas to begin with, and likewise the classic housewife security mom believes in the maleness more than men do because she doesn't understand it. The security mom without reservation cheerleads the alpha male strongman whereas men don't have this overwhelming need to be protected or rescued and are more suspicious of men who come on like a knight in shining armour.
