i received this in the mail today, from numbersUSA and am wondering with such an over taxed overburdened citizenry, why would our illustrious president would be importing non citizens from third world countries, cutting them in on already stressed welfare rolls.

In an outrageous new development, the Obama Administration is running a program to bring to the U.S. the Central American relatives of the illegal aliens it has amnestied (or plans to amnesty).
Instead of the minors and near minors facing the dangerous and expensive trip from Central America on their own (like the 60,000 who came in the 2014 border surge), now these children and their relatives can be flown in directly courtesy of the American taxpayer.
Illegal alien parents in the U.S. who have received some form of amnesty can now apply to have relatives they left behind in Guatemala, Hondurus, and El Salvador receive refugee status, free transportation to the U.S., resettlement assistance, and access to free education and other benefits.

I own valuable stuff, stuff that I don't want looting. I'm all in favour of riot insurance I'd just like to see the many of the potential rioters thrown out of the country. Imo all these pet reclamation projects we've allowed in are an unnecessary addition to our family, and just like pets these are family members we can get rid of.

That's not what you'd get now if you scrapped the welfare state.
Japan has a welfare state and they're a solid people. There's also more welfare state today than 50 years ago, we've just gone through the longest recession on record, and we've seen none of the scenes of the past. For the most part today's generations have taken hardship on the chin, 50 years ago they took post-war prosperity and still revolted.
So I don't believe the welfare state makes people scumbags, I believe that people who are scumbags made our welfare state. The scumbags are the reason why we can't have nice things anymore.

Oh what? You have 5 kids and don't know what else you can do? I know, you get to work in the freakin daycare!
I see a ton of potholes that could be fixed and trails in the national parks (remember the WPA?) that need maintenance. How about trash pickup and painting over graffiti? Habitat for Humanity type work for our elderly and handicapped? I could go on and on.
Time to bring it back...

I don't want to live on social welfare as I like my standard of living reasonably well.
However, should I ever get sick or loose my job, I do want to get social welfare until I find work again.

Anyone at anytime can experience a small bump in the road, I have. In the US temporary assistance is provided within the community by caring groups that reach out to help those in need. Assistance is given to those who are willing to stand on their own two feet. Governmental assistance can become, too many times, a way of life for too many people. Tax payers should not be obligated to support others for life. The US also has food banks located about 15 miles apart where all who are in need can obtain food of there choice for free donated by the community. Food stamps are a rip-off of the tax payers dollar in my opinion.
