Most "fears" are based upon the ultimate fear,....fear of death. Think about it,....heights? Falling and dying upon impact. Nuclear war,....uh,...getting blown to smithereens and being dead,....spiders? Getting bit and dying....
Once a person is capable of getting past the fear of death,....well then they call us reckless,....lol! Fear is just a way to get a "hit" of adrenaline! Beyond that, it is ultimately your fear of dying.

Thanks Rumples but my browser does not allow me to see it.
mnowsa: ok...Life, is it where i get to say "the only fear we have is fear itself" or something like that?
I like that.
GUZMAN1:
Ccincy: I'm afraid of heights but I'm gradually overcoming that slowly but surely.I've seen people afraid of their own shadows, night crawlers, bugs, spiders, fear that someone is hiding inside their homes waiting to do harm to them.
Perhaps the fear to heights is not the same than the fear to fly.
Don't worry about jumping, no parachutes in passenger flights.
I was refering to jump from a plane as a sport and a parachute is a must will I ever do it? I do not know but I would love to have the guts the parachute to go with.
I'm ok in elevators and such, but I struggle working under a car if it's touching my chest, climbing through small openings, working in low crawl spaces....things like that. I'm afraid of being trapped, or crushed.
My greatest fear is doing something in my job that costs someone,....lord, I sometimes tire of having to pay so much attention at work,....its not about my mortality, but rather the lives of those who look towards me,...

I think it's a reasonable fear.
I've felt the same sensation in fully crowded spectacles, better to not fall on the floor when many are pushing.

Man you would have gone insane in a job I once had. I worked for an outfit that cleaned restaurant exhaust systems. I had to crawl through ducts that were barely big enough to fit through. One times my drop light cought the fluff in the duct on fire and I either put the fire out with my bare hands or burn to death. Another time I was lowered from the roof of the Jack Tar hotel in Tampa 10 stories on a boatswains chair (that's a board on a rope) through the main exhaust duct for the 2 kitchens.

I lose sleep fearing over the thought that our government will control production and distribution of Industrial methyl wood Naphtha alcohol for mandatory human daily consumption again.

Feeling the earth moving is interesting and I sometimes while in bed and closing my eyes I do feel as if the earth is moving (not drinking, not smoking,..) seriously!
