(There are many other articles out there saying the same thing).

In a nutshell, eunuchs live 13-19 years longer than men with testes. Remove the source of testosterone and live longer. (It's difficult to reproduce the study, for obvious reasons, and there are some factors that need to be added to the equation, but it's an interesting notion).

If removing the source of testosterone bought you a few more years of life, would you make the trade?

laugh Ya think?

Too late? That happens to be a part that I was questioning (the age at which removal would have to be done) to get that benefit. Some of the articles out there attribute the shorter lifespan to the aggressiveness caused by the testosterone and hence the risky behavior. I'd be interested to know how less testosterone affects the entire hormone household in the body and whether that is the key to living longer rather than just the behavior adjustment.

I have good testosterone levels, and neutering didn't change the way I feel. I still like to chase women that want to get caught.. laugh

Neutering and eliminating testosterone production are two different things, so yes, you're behaving like a "typical guy" wink laugh (Jk)

Nidifugous: Ah, au contraire mon cher. Women would never be allowed to do the task. Men will always be more jealous of other men especially powerful men who have a harem and want to make sure that the kids they produce are actually theirs.

Nidifugous: Of course, but if you like that way of reasoning, you might as well not care about your health at all because something else could kill you tomorrow.
That is very possible, which is why Im not saving myself for that someone special. I'd rather go to my grave with a smile on my face and an empty wallet.

Oh I totally agree in terms of not saving oneself for someone special, but perhaps a good reason to stick around could be that you are doing work that benefits people in some way or to enjoy your kids/grandkids and teach them and others. What do you think about the notion that people feel they are ready to pass on, but when the time comes, often recant and say they'd choose differently if they had to do it all over again (i.e. people who die from alcoholism or heart disease from overeating etc).

Nidifugous: We (women), by and large, aren't "wired" that way. Perhaps it is because our ability to procreate ends during our lifetime and we have no choice but to deal with it and find an alternative to maintain our quality of life. hmm

Well. Cast your mind back to the story about Angelina Jolie and her preventative double Mastectomy. There was some divide from women's commentary about that.

It's natural to look back and wonder what if. That fact is you can't change the past, so live life with balance. nothing wrong with a drink, being plastered every night while posting on a forum isn't living
