yes you are being selfish. if a person doesn't want to be a parent then they should back up their belief n get themselves fixed. being a parent is best gift ever. and a person that don't wanna have kids obviously don't love their owne parents very much either.

lonelytiger68: yes you are being selfish. if a person doesn't want to be a parent then they should back up their belief n get themselves fixed. being a parent is best gift ever. and a person that don't wanna have kids obviously don't love their owne parents very much either.
I don't want to have children because I don't think I be a very good influence, there is not a great history through the generations in my family of good parenting and even though I would like to be the one that changes that, I would find it selfish of myself to take the risk if I cant be sure that I would be good.I know many people that are born to be parents, but I dont think everybody is.

And how does the love/dislike for one's parents affect one's want/don't want of children?
Obvious to you but not to me.
I like the option of loving someone or not.
You make it sound like not loving one's parents is a bad thing.
As if one should feel guilty about it.
Being a parent gives no entitlement for undisputed respect and love from one's children.
Nice thing if they do but the free choice is theirs.
