I had to go to an office yesterday and wait for someone 20” or so and in the meantime I was observing people:
There was a young girl that enter the building to give a snack to her boyfriend (she works there too but was out for some reason besides the snack). The girl’s face was illuminated when she saw her boyfriend but he was not excited to see her, he did not even look at her while getting the snack from her. Perhaps, he did thank her but I did not hear it.
My first though was she loves him, then I did think:
lifeisadream: Can you? Have you loved too much? Is it possible?
yes it does happen......no matter how much you love someone.......a one sided love.....the nice one gets dropped like a hot potato.........to me that is cruel.jmo.

There is a 2-way response-result in a relationship Tru.

It is possible. I knew an elderly couple who were always together, never wanted to be apart and you could see the love emanating between them. She died due to a failed surgury and shortly after that, he literally willed himself to death. He couldn't bear living without her.

You know, True? You're absolutely right. Today it's more about Add-water love, which really isn't love at all. I see way too much of that going on. Sad.

yes it is sad......they see one bad tree...and they cut the whole forest down.....a no win situation........
Ccincy: Are you referring to obsessive-compulsive,confining or suffocating love or something different?
I don't want to misunderstand the thread topic but I will take a chance anyway. Can people love to much? I would say that some people don't love enough.
hi..C/C....trouble is you cannot put old heads on young shoulders....to understand what love/life is about..

You can never love too much! You can perhaps love the wrong person, or not love enough, but for sure you cannot love too much!

Is that too much love?
hiya lifeisadream
i dunno.....it's tough to know what their situation was given just a glimpse or moment in time; never a good idea to compare one's insides to other folks outsides...
can one love too much?
i don't think so. having said that..if one is in a relationship...and the love is onesided..i guess individuals have to make a choice for themselves as to whether they continue in that relationship, or find one where love is reciprocated.
i think love is about giving...not getting (although we tend to include that in contempary views of love...) and if one is not happy where or how they are giving, perhaps it's time to review one's choices and give in a way that brings self fulfillment as well.... giving or loving should feel good me thinks....yanno...? (smiling)

I think so. It's common for some to get so infatuated or whatever, and lose a little of common sense and direction. I've done it. As I get older, it does not occur.

I know what you mean, I guess I "saw" her question in a different way. We can get so wrapped up in another person, and forget what is sensible, is what I was thinking. In that respect, one can "love too much".
