I still use the manners that my parents taught me.
Open doors, walk on the gutter side, hold the chair, hold hands and I'm a gentle person.
Why do some women look at a gentle male as been weak?
Do we all have to watch the footy and down an ale in 5 seconds?
I'd miss the footy for life in exchange for a hug from the heart.

How do you know that some women look at a gentle male as being weak?

Why would it matter to you if some women do?

It's refreshing to know that there are still good men with good old fashioned moral values and manners. Any woman who doesn't appreciate this doesn't deserve you. wine

That's like asking why some men dislike strong women. Who knows. People are the product of their upbringing, environment and the sum of their experiences, etc. Imo, manners are never a sign of weakness.

Old fashioned manners and values are still alive and well in this world. Trouble is that many men (and women) have not been taught them growing up. Yes, we are all a product of our environment and those of us that were taught proper mannerisms and values are one step ahead of those that weren't. At least in my opinion, this is so. Even the strongest of women appreciate a man that shows them courtesy and respect. Sometimes a simple hug speaks much louder than a hundred words.handshake

hiya k wave

i taught my son that manners are about using them...not just knowing about them...laugh

one of my pet peeves are folks that use manners only when they want something, or when they think someone is watching and they care about what that person/s think of them. you don't have to like someone to use manners or be respectful.

Hi handshake
I have never drank alcohol in my life as I do not like the taste, and I do not watch the football, but I have never come across a woman that has considered me weak. Quite the opposite in fact and they have kindly always mentioned I have manners.
Perhaps the women you meet are not of the sort that appreciate good manners. beer

Well, if you don't know, why did you state it as fact?

I'm not finding your sentence construction clear to comprehend EnglishTeacher55, but I wonder if it is your 'good manners' which some women think is 'weak'.

If you feel a need to be approved of, or liked by everyone it can come across as a lack of confidence. If your 'good manners' cross the line to not treating women as normal human beings equal to yourself, it can feel swamping, oppressive and intrusive. Are you maybe crossing that line at times in your eagerness to gain approval?

Are you expecting something in return from some women which they are not actually obliged to give? Are you disresprcting some women's boundaries under the guise of 'good manners'? In which case, that is not 'good manners' at all.
