Presents to your Mother! (11)
lifeisadream: When growing up our family resources were limited but I do remember giving to my Mother a small and simple flower base with some violet plastic flowers. That little flower base was around for many years, perhaps still it might be around my parents’home even though my parents are not in this world anymore.
I do still remember very well that flower base with plastic flowers and my Mother's momento.
Do you remember the gifts that you gave to your Mother when you were little? or in any other time.

I must have been around 8 years old. I bought her a cheap cake pan in the shape of a heart. She had absolutely no purpose for the pan cause she always make a cake with round pans. It was all I could afford from my allowance.
There were other cheap gifts but this is the one I remember most.
Funny thing, I still have the cheap gifts my daughter gave me.

I made a pottery pig moneybox with flower shapes all over it.
It still has it's place on the bookcase. Although, one of it's ears got knocked off a few years ago.

I remember it being my 10th birthday and my older brother had sent me some money for my birthday.
I couldn't think of anything to buy for myself so I purchased her a blue Apron,a broach and earrings to match cause her favorite color was blue.
I wrapped them up and when I handed her the items she asked me what was the occasion.I explained to her that everyday should be Mother's Day and that I loved her very much.

We never had alot when I was growing up. when I was 6 or 7 I picked a bunch of dandelions, and put them in my pocket, when I got home I took them out and gave them to my mom, they were pretty wilted and sad looking, but my mom thought they were special and still tells people that story.

Yes! I bought my Mum who I adored a tiny little brooch, it was a gold sandal with a violet sole and a rhinestone on the top.
It was the most exquisite thing I had ever seen at the age of 8 and I just had to buy it for my darling Mum
My Mum died 20 years ago, this year, and I still have that brooch ..

While living in USA I had to come to Mexico because my Mother was sicker. I held my Mother so tight 2 weeks before she did fly away from this world and I knew that was going to be the last time in this world to hug her.

How old were you then?
Getting honey from Walmart/Cosco/Sam's/Chedraui/Soriana/Oxxo/...or at the local market better, would have been easier and less risky.
