Kaybee50: I had a best male friend, Joe. Joe and I "met" 6 or 7 years ago in a local dating chatroom. The chemistry was immediate and exciting. We were karmic goofballs. Joe and I did not form a romantic connection, but the friendship we developed was to the core. He was handsome, funny, true, real, and had a laugh and smile that was bigger than life. Women took advantage of him and this broke my heart, and his, time and time again. He turned 47 last June and was found dead by his 18 year old daughter in September. My heart is being slow in healing from this loss.
Ah yes I remember you mentioning joe,
It's very sad kaybee ,he died but what you both shared in life never will,
The fantastic memories you have of him,
I believe that the when one dies their spirit lives on and rip joe .
I met my best friend in 1978 my first year at University.
We disliked each other the first few months. I arrived to school a few weeks late and interrupted her and her boyfriend's privacy.
One evening, her boyfriend had something going on, so she bought a 6-pack of beer and snuck it in the room, and she and I started talking...and laughing.
And we haven't stopped talking and laughing since that night.
We have weathered all life's storms together; experienced all life's events together; she has been my Rock Gibraltar; our lives are so entwined.
She married two years ago and her husband tolerates me.
I texted her this morning and told her today was National Best Friend Day and thanked her for being the best friend anyone could ever ask for. She responded back with an, "I love you too".
