I have been alone now for over 10 years. I think I should just give up on the dating game and men.

Do you want someone in your life? If so, why give up?

I was single and didn't date for over a decade, and it was a great time in my life, I was happy about it and have no regrets. dancing

Not sure why you've posted this thread, but I am glad to see some activity in the Canadian forums. laugh Is it for attention, or because you wish to discuss something pertaining to your singledom, or is it singlehood. confused

Either way, you've started a thread to discuss something, so please do stick around and maintain the thread, talk to people, even though the posts may be sporadic and will take time in between posts.

I should probably do the same with my own thread on here, but I haven't looked for a while and not had a lot of time online lately. uh oh

Oh, and welcome to the forums. wave

Hello from one canadian girl to another 'CanadianGirl55',

Never give up; all Good things come to those who wait. Be patient; refuse to settle for that which you know yourself to be deserving of.

My wish for you is that this life becomes all that you want it to; your dreams stay big; your worries stay small and you never have to carry more than you can bear...

God Bless,
Regards,
Lena aka: Genesis

i'm not sure of the purpose of your thread, as there is no specific question asked..

i called it 'purposely single'...and i was for 10 years, and then some...laugh

i got to a point were i recognized that repeating the same steps gives one the same results.
and i recognized i needed some time to work on myself, change some things, prioritize and get to know myself...i had always been someone's daughter, sister, wife, mother, employee...many things..and i needed to find out who i was when i wasn't trying to please others.

i had pretty much accepted i would most likely be alone...and i stopped fretting about not having a partner or whether the cat would eat me, and just enjoyed my life, while remaining open to the infinite possibilities..
i set some new goals, and filled my life with activities and friendships that brought me joy.
(didn't like my job...but heck...life's not perfect...laugh)

then..

yes...and then....

i met someone, and right here on CS.

you get what you focus on...
so..what are you focusing on?
