Yesterday on facebook, I looked at a old photo album I made and seen the 2 dogs and a cat that has since died. I actually got pretty emotional and had to stop looking at it.

Yeah it's tough losing our pets, they travel through life with us and theirs most likely ends before ours do sigh

The only thing they do wrong is that they die before we do. I keep the good memories alive.

serene56: Bloody cats, fluffy, cute and deadly

Those cats were deadly. My cousin used to bring his dog in when he dropped by but he had to stop doing it because the cat had his nose permanently scarred from clawing into him uh oh

serene56: This Saturday just gone, 4 July, I lost my best friend.

My little Maltese dog, Ben.

We had a wonderful life, growing older together, we moved from place to place, spent our mornings walking, hanging out and viewing life with similar points of view.

We spent the last 13 and a half happy years together, he supported and cared for me through heartache and loss and I supported and cared for him through his latter difficult years with ill-health.

He let me know during a long, cold difficult Friday night that he had had enough, I let him know that I understood, I talked, cuddled and smiled at him through the night.

Nursed and cuddled him at the vet's the next morning as he departed this world.

Tomorrow he will depart for his final journey, to be cremated, his ashes I will scatter around the lake that we loved walking together for all those years.

My profile pic is of him and me five years ago when we were both younger and fatter lol.

Please raise your glass to my brave wonderful boy

Dear Serene, just saw this post and I know I'm a bit too late in making a comment here. Sorry for your loss, Serene hug

Less than 12 hours ago, Art had to bring his bulldog of 81/2 years to the vet to be put to sleep.......sad flower

She was given by his daughter when she was just 6 weeks old and had been with Art ever since.

I wish I'm there to console his aching heart now...

The paradox now days,as i see it,is this.

People shed tears over the lose of their domestic pets.

and some of us,NOT a drop of tear, for the people,
we loved when alive,or our close friemds + relatives.

So. start shooting the messenger..

I like cats too but I've not had one for many years due to their predatory nature conversing

They prey upon wildlife and those who have them need to understand this and keep them restricted within their property.

I have also in a dark red urn the ashes of my dog that died in 2005 here with me. He was a Golden Retriever. He and Stella now are the sweetest souls I ever met, although they are so different.

Stella will be operated probably (should she doesn´t have a metastasis in her lung) next week. She has a lot of tumors in her mammary line.

Cats are okay, and I would always help any cat. I only can´t stand that they play with their poor food.
