He was tested as to how to find any location from anywhere else in the shortest or most efficient route. While being tested the instructor tried everything he could to distract the applicant including making all kinds of faces and gyrations including sticking a nasal inhaler up his nose. I remember it was called "The Price" but I could be mistaken because it was a long time ago.
