I like many other people was shocked to hear that Cilla had passed away.

I only ever met her an few times, when I was working in Bands.
I feel it necessary to start this thread as a tribute from an ex Pro and add my thoughts based on my experience.

Cilla was a pleasure work with, rather than for, and such a wonderful person off stage too, because she was never a snob and made time to speak to and acknowledge everyone who backed her, which made her a true professional. Her charity work,is legend.

HONOURS -
Cilla deserved far greater honours than the O.B.E.

Unlike many far less talented, who act like prima dona's that we had the misfortune to have to work for have received higher awards which did not deserve and whom I could name, Cilla deserved more.

She was so genuine and loved by so many of us "ordinary folk" shw will never be forgotten worldwide.

I hate to use that term, but please accept that in this case I say it with my utmost respect and I express my condolences to all her friends in all walks of life and her family.

I don't remember in the whole of my career as a musician since she first appeared, hearing any bad words said by anybody about Cilla.

There are not many REAL British/English "stars" for whom I and others played, we can say that about.

I have to admit that having met her when I was with the Big Band at The Winter Gardens Margate in the 1960's just after The Bacharach tune Anyone, was recorded, I watched some of the Funeral yesterday out of respect.

I had to go away due to tears, especially as Cilla suffered a similar very sudden fatal stroke to that of my late wife in 2007 when we were both 69.

RIP The Great lady who should have been Dame Cilla will be sorely missed by everyone who met her and every fan in the world.

Cilla Black was murdered by the establishment, she was about to blow the lid on Cliff 'Kitty' Richard.. Same as Jill Dando, Rik Mayall and many more, Just google Elm Guest house for all the non-believers. Peace and Love
