Are those natural fires or man made?
Is it not wrong to put out fires made by nature? aren't you messing with a natural process?

Many of the guys who make the assist-trips are volunteers who get to enjoy a "free" trip to see some other places. They have undergone extensive training here in Australia and are not paid for there efforts. Nor expect any payment.
My brother who has spent many days using his bulldozer to clear fire-breaks cannot qualify as a Volunteer Fire Fighter because he has trouble remembering which Fire Extinguisher to use for an electrical fire or a petrol fire.
