Da_Moose: When I consider the beauty of life, with all its struggles,...not much truly pisses me off for I am still alive to enjoy it!

I do have a few things that annoy me though!

Yes being too negative and failing to recognize life's beautiful aspects can be a turn off.

lindsyjones: I have posted "what truly turns you on" and figured it is also important to know what truly turns us off.

I can present some of it myself like: Neglect, the failure to nourish what makes love grow. Control, I mean unreasonable power of the other person to manipulate and make all the decisions without much regard as to the feelings of the other.

Can you share some that truly piss you off?

Thank you all for your participation.

oh nooo, I can say with great confidence that she is nowhere on hear. To my knowledge she never has. But from your post it sure did sound like her for sure! LOL. In all fairness I tried for many years to be patient, supportive and in the end she only became worse. It is very hard to see people that have a great potential driven by this mindset and very linear minded blindness.

yes, here there are many many dogs and many places for them to run. And even further out there are just lots of free space for them to run. Oregon has many places that are very open and not crowded. At the same time there are many places that are more populated for some events and so on.

lindsyjones: But this goes to show how his predisposed cynicim is. First, you can't be off the ship at anytime when you work. there is a policy that you never even have a day off. 9 months straight. Then you renew your contract. The reason I know is because my friend is one of the employee and they can't go or visit any of the destinations or ports of call.

Before you make such statements, check your facts

"Q: How much time do you spend off the ship?

A: The amount of time you spend off the ship depends on three main factors 1.) The contract you hold with your employer and 2.) The amount of time your ship allows passengers to visit ports. 3.) Your position on the cruise ship. Crew members working in departments and positions that are slow or closed when a ship is in port, generally have more free time in each port.

When your ship stops at ports most crew members are allowed (and in most cases encouraged) to get off the ship and explore. Generally, crew members are allowed to be out in port until one hour prior to departure (of course, unless they are on duty).

Most cruise line contracts typically require a four to six month commitment for new employees. Some cruise lines allow you to take a limited amount of vacation time during a contract and other do not. If this is important to you, it should be discussed prior to accepting the position."

That's true Riz,,
Or might be that regulations are not the same but i doubt on that.

Anyway,, here in France my association use to visit ships in port in any part of France due to large number of filipino sailors and employees in cruise and cargo ships.
They were envited to dine with the local french-filipino homes, and during our X'mas Party and social gatherings, if by coincedence they are in port, we envite them,, so far there was no restrictions of their getting off of the vessel, they are all grateful to meet copatriotes far away from home and it's always a touching experience and moments. They are known and well appreciated as sailors., proud of them and the few cruise that i had,, i always enjoy being with them, my friends whom i'm with like them very much ,, filipinos,, they say !!!
