kidatheart: I recognise the series I, but what is the tow vehicle?

Glad you got away, sounds like a great trip around the country. I've been away from home too, but for work and cleaning up details, as well as dealing with family stuff, not for fun.

The tow vehicle is an Australian made vehicle being 6wd with an Isuzu diesel motor (an Aussie thing for Landies). Perrenti had a contract with the Aussie Army to build some 4wd & 6wd vehicles. Of the 450 6wd vehicles made, about half have been sold as the Aussie Army went over to the u-beaut Mercs that would do the trick in the modern world. Sales have stopped as the u-beaut Mercs are more u-crap than said.

Great photos Wash. There's something beautiful about the Australian bush isn't there. Lucky you to have the freedom to travel for 70 days :)

Had a look, and I have to wonder why we don't get the range of vehicles the rest of the world gets or produces. Other than the extreme cold weather, Canada would be an excellent market for a number of the off road and military vehicles on the planet. With a few mod's, they could likely survive here just the same as the Series IIa and III Landies have.

I still have 3 of them, but thinking I should whittle it down to 2, I'm running out of space with all the other projects I have going. laugh

I did manage a train ride before that, something I have always wanted to do was catch the train from nowhere to nowhere. It was an experience I will not be repeating or recommending.

Since 2001, a group of us have met each year at a place called Louth, 99ms downstream from Bourke in NSW. Over the years, this has become the start or finish of a number of trips of have undertaken over these years. I have also managed to make a lot of new friends at this very small rural community, most living 100s of kms away.

Best of all is the Sunday Camp Oven Roast Dinner.

Not sure if there are enough people on this site who would enter photos. It was hard enough when there were a few of us logging n every day.

And that Lookin bloke entered stuff all.
