I'm afraid there are many women on this site who like to play "mind games" & enjoy the attention they receive here , when in reality, they receive little or no attention.

I can think of a number of reasons straight off the bat....
Maybe you are messaging women who are out of your league.
Maybe you are messaging women who have stated certain preferences that don't match with your profile.
Maybe you are just messaging the wrong profiles.
My advice is to have a look and see if you are seeking someone with the same values and general looks as yourself, that is, if you are not a supermodel, then it is unlikely that you will score with a supermodel. This is just a example by the way, by all means have a shot at getting a date with a supermodel, just don't be surprised if you don't get far.....
Other than that, use the "Who's Viewed Me" tool to see what women are interested enough to have a look at your profile, and message them.
That strategy worked quite well for me.
I also ended up going viewing and messaging women in parts of the world who wanted someone like me.
So it depends on who you are messaging, and whether you are realistic in who you are messaging as to your success rate with replies....

a lot of the reasons have been covered on here, but others I can think of; are you messaging people too far away? There are exceptions like Halvo who wanted someone from far away, but many people are looking locally even though we may chat globally.
Also if someone states they are looking for people in their local geographic area and gets a message from several hundred or thousands of miles away, it is clear he did not read the profile.
(exceptions of course for those forum friends who PM for various reasons)

That may well be true, but when a person goes to the trouble of reading a profile and sending mail/ flower common courtesy dictates a reply even if it in the negative. (Am I past my use by date?)

Sometimes that backfires too although I personally don't use the words "you're not my type"...I just say no thank you and wish them luck. Some will appreciate the polite response and some others get pretty nasty.
