lifeisadream: How do you measure richness in mind?
Easy measure, ... Each centimeter of a human's grey matter corresponds to 2-years of formal education. So, shove a metric ruler up and in someone's nose. Now, push it in hard, shove it as far in for best accuracy. Do this several times to obtain a good average. No sneezing allowed while primary measurements are taken....

BerrySmoothie: Being rich in mind and spirituality far outweighs any richness derived from materialism.
I've had it all. The dream home. The flash cars. The holidays. I was searching for happiness outside of myself. Inside I was empty.
Far better, and not wishing to sound annoyingly PC about it, to work on our internal selves in search of peace, fulfillment and contentment.
Just my personal view.
Hiya BerrySmoothie..
What a great response! I believe that as well. I too have had it all, but was never really happy until I decided I needed to work on my inner self..I am happy within myself now

And have found peace

I'm still climbin the mountain....hard work... but I'm becoming richer and stronger by the day....
How can we possibly put a "Label" on,...anything? What is Rich..and what is Poor??
Are we RICH in mind...or material possesions?
Does mind over matter really count?
I like the spirit of your thread. Not needing the trappings of jet-setting lifestyles is a sort of wealth, as is being content with a comfortable snug cottage instead of a villa or mansion. The line in the sand I draw is disenfranchising people from realizing potential, such as not being allowed to attend Brown or Harvard simply because one is not from the "right" family. So, "Poor" can be defined, as such. When you have enough money to live well, with a swimming pool, assistants, vacation home, and money is not a "problem", then it is fair to say you are "rich". There are rich and poor, and there is a difference. I can't remember who, but a famous actress once said, I've been rich, and I've been poor. Rich is better". I tend to agree, don't you?

Hi Rohann,
I probably disagree with the famous actress. I'm happy with being merely comfortable in monetary wealth, not particularly rich either....but being able to sustain a reasonable lifestyle.
I would not ever wish to return to what I had previously. I had it all in terms of material possessions, and not a happy chickie.
It's the simpler things in life that I appreciate now.

Hiya Rohaan... What an interesting way of putting it. Or one could say I've been poor in knowledge..and rich in knowledge? Thanks for your response, I may have to think on a reply yet I've always been content to live around the ocean and small cottage amongst nature
