Seems we are going to increase the number previously agreed upon to several thousand now.

I've heard figures anywhere between 10 to 40 thousand.

Well 40,000 is just half the capacity of Croke Park so in the grander schemes of things they should not have a major impact on the whole country.

Germany said they'd give 800k asylum..jasus thats some amount but they have a booming economy they can afford it whereas ireland is still fragile only coming out of recession..high unemployment..we have a homeless crisis in dublin with familys living in emergency accomodation..rents are skyrocketing..just where are we going to put 40k refugees..certainly not in dublin anyway..spread out around the country in rural towns and villages would be best I think..yes give them refuge but they shouldn't be allowed to stay here indefinitely..perhaps a few years then when things improve in syria they can go home but they won't go home many are economic migrants who are using this war as an excuse to leave for europe..you see them getting off boats well dressed with the latest mobile phones to hand..are these really desperate people or do they just want a free ride in europe?..what concerms me is their religion..the islamification of europe is inevitable as far as I'm concerned..in 20 or 30 years time we'll be listening to a giant loud speaker from the local mosque calling us to prayer..you think thats mad well thats what will happen if we let so many inireland

The countries that made the mess, they should pick up the tab and maybe stop doing regime changes and bombing civilians...

It was the west that created this problem in the first place..the so called arab spring of a few years back was looked upon by many in the west as a victory for democracylaugh in reality it destabilized the whole of the middle east..suddenly you have a huge power vaccum that needs to be filled and filled it was by a crowd of nutjobs called isis..they murdered gaddafi..killed him in the street like a dog..this was seen as a victory when it was a disgrace..libya is a warzone..not as bad as iraq or syria though..then we get to saddam hussein ousting all those years ago in iraq..again this was heralded as a victory for democracylaugh the americans stayed for years afterwards to keep the peace as soon as they left the nutjobs took over raping murdering and pilliaging..would this happen if hussein was still in control of the country..not a chance his rule was respected by all..now we have a lawless country run by a crowd of nutjobs..the west also tried to oust assad by arming rebels the fsa to the teeth with the latest weapons to help speed up the process..didn't work those weopans ended up in the hands of isis..so isis is a creation of the wests interference in the middle east..now the west has to help assad (the very man they wanted to oust) get rid of the ugly monster that is isis..moral of the story is don't interfere in another countries businessconversing

Phoenix: Who are funded by the CIA & MI6
Saddam Hussein & Muammar Gaddafi were both killed because they both wanted to use either their own money backed by gold (and not an IOU like the narco dollar)..Saddam simply wanted to trade in Euros and not in Standard Oils petro dollar..And training and arming the "nutjobs" who are doing what the Vikings did centuries before...

Unless you were a Kurd..

gaddafi had actually set up his own public banking system and was showing some african nations how to do the same before he errr emm was taken out!

And let us not forget how Europe jumped for Joy when the President of the Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, was ousted from power by a popular uprising in 2014, because he wanted closer ties with Russia rather than the EU. How loudly the EU sproclaimed it would stand with the Ukrainian people in solidarity.....that was of course until the Russians brought the guns to the table knowing Europe was all talk.

And a year and a bit later on......how much do we here about European solidarity with Ukraine, or what is left of the Ukraine.....eff all.

After decades of politicking, funding this war, that war, this uprising, that uprising, usurping and interfering in the Middle East and Africa, what have we come too? What has it all achieved?
A 3 year boys dead body washed up on a beach?

Makes you want to weep really.
