has irretrievably broken down, and one or both, are suffering because of it
Example,, one of them is a bigamist,in this country,
Bigamy is a crime, under the offences against the person act.

My auld pair got one in 3 years in the 80s sometime. Although I think it was Libra70 that told us, ages ago, it normally takes 7 years or something?
It took another 10+ years before a proper legal divorce. Oppressive government.

Well that is the point,
annulment, being faster to get , for those who need it.
If couples are happy in their marriage, then they wont want to opt out
anyway.
It goes without saying that the majority are not bigamists!!

3 years was quick, it did take up to 7 years, but now hopefully it wont take as long anymore, because we now have a forward thinking pope!
