...and am so pleased it did happen for you Serena and others....
Not possible. You can only become intrigued, like the way this person writes, talks...the first time when you meet can either boost this feeling or shatter it. The most important is the chemistry you feel when face to face, if there is none...forget it
Charilove: Falling in love from a distance with someone u haven't met yet Is it real of a broken heart?
I'm less skeptical now that there's skype. Virtual presence gives an inkling of what that person is actually like. Plus lovely, normal people use dating sites now too.
Ten years ago I'd have said it's only for fantastic losers, now maybe not. These days it is more likely to be a romantic connection instead of a desperate arrangement.
None of this answers your question I know. Connection or arrangement no one here can say whether it will work.

To some it can be, to some not,, Falling in love on line,, it's not the question, love knows no distance,it's the fullfilment of that love that is a quite decieving and not at the reach of so many, so in this it ends up broken, sooner or later.
I suppose falling in love online is possible but falling in love with someone you have never met in person is just basing that relationship on superficial experiences.

Falling in love from a distance happens all the time and some feel strongly enough for one another that they will make every effort to meet face to face. It's the actual meeting and spending time together that will reveal if the feelings felt for one another are still the same and will grow from there. If a relationship remains in the virtual world with no intent of ever meeting, there is a tendency that it will fizzle out, sometimes with great emotional pain which is very real. I think we fall in love with the possibilities.

Morning pete... The fact that there should be no barriers where love is concerned . Nothing should stop you being together if that's what you both want.

It's not jyo Pete, I'm in the same boat. The rules here governing immigration are a complete joke, (not a funny one either). My fiancee has a certificate in aged care and is currently employed in that capacity in Hong Kong, but being in a low paid profession she does not meet the monetary requirements necessary to be granted a visa. The fact that I have stated that I will be responsible for any expenses incurred while she is here appears to count for nothing. There is a desperate need for aged care workers in this country, and because of the low remuneration involved this will continue to be the case. It's a case of the bureaucrats looking a gift horse in the mouth but it appears there is nothing I can do as they are unflinching in their stance. They can admit unqualified "refugees", many of whom can't speak English (and use the taxes I have paid for the past 50 years to support them), yet refuse someone who would be an asset to this country Makes me ashamed to admit I'm an Aussie. This country has gone to hell in a hand basket!

That really is a shame. The complexities of it all is mind boggling. I hope there's a way around this for you.
