If we knew the true level of corruption in the world from politics down to the church, we would be so disillusioned that we would never believe in anything again.

That is so true and depressing. Sometimes I agree with the phrase, "Ignorance is bliss."

I think we know Track, but there's a certain fanatism in humans that even knowledge would not be enough to desuade those crooked minded, just a difference in level, so many still vote during elections and so many are still backing up politician's gimmicks.

It is worse to know it Track and not to be able to do any change, for good!!!
There was a minister in my community who tried to set fire to his own church one night but caught himself on fire instead (nearly died). He tried to blame my cousin for it who happened to walk down the road along by the church about 10 minutes before hand.

Why the Minister would do that and why your counsin was passing by What is their relationship?

Are they gay? and afraid to let the world know?
My cousin was walking home from further up the road.
The minister was vandalizing the church for months and then blaming it on the young people because he hated the community and didn't want to be there so he was doing all this in hopes of getting transferred.

Sorry Track
I do like the love stories better than the other ones, as the minister wanted to be transferred.

that's why when you find an honest person it is so important not to forget them. It's also why we often see the more honest person being poked fun of by the more corrupt. The corrupt will try to discredit them (similar to your minister story). So always look twice. Even rumours in the press are suspect, statements by police in evidence, accusations by rivals. All should be suspect unless you have the firsthand knowledge OR know for certain the source is trustworthy. Question everything.
It doesn't necessarily mean that things are false. They can be true - just means we can't assume what is said by those is power and authority is true because of who they are.
