JustBrian: and good morning Lindsay (afternoon here!) thank you for your kind words regarding my posts

Yep you are way ahead of us Brian and hope you are enjoying your afternoon. Weather is just gorgeous in the Midwest where I am right now. We might not have a lot of snow like last year because El Nino is now in the West. Texas and the west coast is wet which of course, they need.

Its my pleasure to share your ideas and opinions and I am looking forward for you to be on here for long.wave cheers

Ccincy: Lindsy what has always got me is when I hear people brag about what a safe neighborhood they reside in.

But the next time around they talk they mention about how someone in that so called safe neighborhood which just happened to be two neighbors who got into a fight and shot at one another.
I lived in a few neighborhoods where they were deemed safe. Not long after I moved in one of them couple neighbors began a shootout and some of the bullets went through people homes.Thank goodness there was no one home in either of those homes at that time.

Another time a woman was sitting in her livingroom watching tv and someone did a drive by shooting and a bullet missed her by an inch.

Yes CC, hear of them here too. And yes, there are always events that justifies why guns should not be licensed but I am not sure if those drive by shootings are done by people with license or not. All I know is that there are so many criminals who get hold of these guns with or without the right to bear arms.

But having said that, just be careful CC and try to be aware. And sometimes, even that is not enough.wave

Lindsy living in the neighborhood that I live in now there has only been one break in in the 9 yrs that I have lived here but there were no weapons used.
I always make sure that I'm aware of my surroundings.

I'm so glad that I don't live in the city.

answer.. in most states that issue concealed weapons permits those permits usually have a restriction against carrying in bars/ pubs.. and while its not expressly prohibited to carry a gun if you had something to drink if your drunk and start behaving recklessly while carrying a gun you best have a really good lawyer.. because you will be needing one

lindsyjones: You are lucky Life, let me tell you, I have two brothers but my protector was killed on duty for the government of the Philippines. How nice it is indeed to have someone besides you specially children and siblings.

Is he your brother that got killed by a Muslim?

sad flower

That was metaphorically speaking because one of my children got a job overseas and my other one is going abroad also rather soon for a school program and perhaps staying there for few years. Both of them might be coming back some time if not I am more than happy to visit/stay with them overseas.

As for my brothers (protecting people) they are going to be here forever but I worry not about their well being and I do not need their protection in any way.I am just happy to know that they are alive, safe and sound.

Yes it was more of an execution. He was an officer and got ambushed while trying to check out the situation. The southern part of the PI is now a haven for terrorist training by the Talibans, and it is not safe being there. It was always about religion. They want the whole of the Philippines to be Islam, but in 1365 the Spaniards came and changed all that. Philippines is now majority of Christian except in that part.

That was a long time ago.

You are right Life. I think sometimes that it would have been better if we didn't identify ourselves with any religious affiliations. But think of it this way. Humans do need it. The sense of belonging, but don't practice anything that harms others because of belief. Don't you think?sad flower sad flower
