Ok a very long story that I will cut down .
It was assumed by members of my family somehow it included me .
Last year Dad and my mum told me dads mother was aboriginal.
Now with some patients I was told to try a library .
Was taken by a speech therapist to a PC discovered 6 or 9 family groups in the area of her birth.
Now anyone have any clues on how to tell the Feds .
I did notice on my medical notes they had I'm aboriginal finally someone can sense it .

Thanks all

Good the land around that area was like being around broken hill lots of mulga

I have a question for you state owned hospital the Royal Adelaide and their hampstead rehab clinic . Both have written in my notes I'm aboriginal.
So if south Australia govt department can write that and my blood is from nsw why can't they tell the Feds

Like all Govt dept, they are all connected, but they don`t communicate with one another or pass on relevant information, unless you break the law, or use that info in a way that they do not have to pay out on a claim...

Good reply
Was looking for an easier way than hunting 6 or 9 family groups to find the correct one .
And I must go to a land council meeting to ask to be taken in .

Now what happened to granny was she adopted by a white family or just the Catholic Church she was so devout . The Nuns at her house were so damn scary

Getting the legal recognition is the hardest bit. There is a woman in Tassie who as many records of her family history but is not "recognized" by the local elders so she is considered to be "white."

My Blonde blue-eyed brother in NSW has ticked the appropriate boxes on forms and gets preferential treatment these days. I refuse to tick those boxes because they do not need to know that information for what I am seeking.

A very strong native activist in the 70s was Nigel Mansel(???). He had recognition from the Tassie Aborigines. Oddly enough, he was of Yankee (whaler) and Moari decent but had the recognition.

Work say I'm not on workcover
Doctors are saying I am
Laugh away
Cause I'm getting paid to get better
Or I will be and all my leave returned when the companies insurer
Accepts what the specialist is saying .
Mind you work don't know I could be off for 8 months

But go ahead laugh I'm at home on full wages
