The only part of xmas I enjoy is midnight mass.I am dreading the countdown for all the road fatalities due to drink and drive.South Africa is one of the highest deaths on the roads due to alcohol.I know xmas comes once a year But don't look forward to it.I spend that time of the year offering my free voluntary service to Hospice for people that are terminal. Do you enjoy the season to be jolly and if so ,what do you do besides having Turkey and all the delicious treats, not forgetting the gifts

What do I do? well!..I love Christmas, the joy and smiles on peoples faces and that peaceful feeling it brings..no its not all about turkey and treats, for me its about my children and grandchildren..Dressing up as Santa at night and creeping around the house..while 5 little faces, big eyes stare out the bedroom window.. Then I have the christmas cake and "wine" left out for Santa.. Cause you know.. He gets sick of milk and cookies, so our house he has a nice glass of wine Then! I chew the carrots left out for the reindeer.. And spit them out all over the place, to make it look like they've been eating them.. Oh yes, I also leave muddy "reindeer" footprints everywhere for the children to find in the morning .. Sooo yep, bit eccentric, but that's how we roll here Merry Christmas

I love the Magic that Christmas brings. To me Christmas means a big family get together with enough food & drink to feed an army. The joy & disappointments when the children open their gifts... It's one of the rare times of the year when strangers become friends but also a time to reflect on loved ones who are no longer with us.
I respect those who really don't celebrate the real purpose of Christmas but either way family, friends, strangers all gather with the Christmas spirit to celebrate human warmth that in other seasons of the year does not happen.
