lindsyjones: Good morning Capri, that to me is just fair. Is there a very systematic way of finding out what they have?
Not sure, but I suppose they are just relying on the honesty of people ( ) As all taxpayers are subject to revealing all their financial assets, all their accounts, also the ones abroad, the autorities assume that these newcomers would too.
TheRedSquirrel87: I don't believe that many of them are wealthy and if they are wealthy I believe we'd struggle to prove it given the situation.
My politics brain likes the idea. My business brain says no.
I can see your point.
1. As far as I understand, this is to bring everyone on the same page. The ethnic Danes, Norwegians etc. have to sell their houses or other assets, empty their accounts before they can ge help from the state. Many times they are offered loans to ge out of trouble. So, why should someone who has never contributed anything to the system take advantage of it?
AN ethnic Dane will be punished for not reporting his/her assests abroad, why shouldn't the newcomers?
2. As for how well off these people are: I personally know several policemen that work with the migrants on our border, say they have a lot of money on them. It probably does not refer to everyone, but those that do have the money should use it to pay for their living.
Ah Capri, I can't see it working really... The welfare systems have always been abused, that's why the asylums are here... Rely on honesty?! Forget it... Better integration?! It has proven itself not working so far...
It seems to me that some clever people are just pretending to do something so they are not accused of doing nothing...the result is pretty clear...none.

Danes have to sell their own home and clean out the bank account to claim any sort of benefit? Scandalous! Why should a benefit system take advantage of people who do contribute to it?
And let's not forget these are Muslims we're talking about who are the Kings of benefit fraud - as are all people clannish and family oriented. Not literally all people - all never means all - but that close-knit family environment best enables a person to cheat the system and the muslims have this in abundance.

That is what a friend of mine from Norway says

Haha I can agree with you. However, wouldn't is be good to treat everyone equally? If this is set up in the proper way, wouldn't they (the migrants) get the message that the welfare system is not a tree from which you can just pick the fruit but that you have to contribute first to get something back?

I have doubts too, but I can see what they want to achieve:
1. if the welfare system is not readily available, fewer may want to migrate to Denmark.
2. if the money is not just given to everyone, they might learn that you need to work for it.
3. if you are caught lying about your assets, you will be punished...not sure how though, but besides the regualr punishments awaiting the ethnic Danes, expulsion from the country could be added?
Too many "if" doesn't sound promising Capri, they know how to shout their human rights BS and get whatever they want at the end... I kind of think something really dramatic and point turning has to happen for a serious change to be achieved...

I kinda think Danes are onto something Krema. They managed to discourage these ME migrants from going to Denmark by placing the advertisments all over ME, saying that the asyulum system in DK changed, that you actually need to work to get money, that family reunification is possible after 2 (if I am not mistaken) years only. So, the poor "refugees" didn't feel safe in Denamark and wanted to go to Sweden.
So...maybe...just maybe they will do achieve something
KremaP: Not just this but "Muslim friendly apartments in Japan" and so on...
Japan took 12 refugees last year and they have tightened up since . They do have some empty buildings close to a nuclear power plant that could be utilized . Funny thing I saw an add for second hand trucks from Japan promising to run a gieger counter over them .
