When I was married, we had Nothing! So used to Not eat, so my children could.. In the end, I couldn't eat, didn't feel like it, my body was so used to starving itself!..ended up far to skinny, and very ill (I am tall)..so I have been there..
Now I'm a Healthy 120 pounds..

I am glad you are healthy today. I have had some eating issues but usually I believe it is from anxiety and then just not eating at all. I try to make sure I eat well though and to do as I have been directed. I know that when I have not eaten correctly it only makes things harder to deal with so I try and eat something every day.

I have. Used to starve myself at lunch time because some bullying boys would literally chase me into the bathroom so that I couldn't eat. Because of work I have to remind myself to eat otherwise I stay so busy. I'm a bit overweight now and working to get a nice, healthy weight.

Hello wave ,
in the family of my brother is someone who suffers from bulimia. It is hard for the whole family where everybody seems to feel guilty, knowing that it is not helpful to feel that way.

I think eating disorders have different reasons, and I will be so glad when this someone will have reached the point where she is ready to welcome professional help.

I am sorry about your difficult times and glad that you have overcome them. I do have an eating order-dis.

Food is important to me so I do cook my meals at home every day yet sometimes I go out with family and friends but it has to be "great food" along with great company.

thumbs up

One of my daughter’s friends has bulimia as well.
We have tried to help her but not results. She has received some medical treatment at private clinics but still she is not ok.
It breaks my heart to see her in such a bone condition.

Once, my daughter went out with several friends, including this lovely girl. They had a problem with one of the vehicles and could not get back home as planned, so every parent did call their children but hers.

Perhaps, it is just attention that they need but instead the parents give her the best luxurious car.

sigh

Generally, it is not about the food St all.

It is a method of controlling one's life.

When other area of one's life seem outside of one's control and it is scary, controlling what you eat gives back a sense of control.

It is best tackled with a psychologist /psychiatrist and the entire family has to be involved.

It is a slow painful process as the person in the centre usually fights the process tooth and nail.

But it is reversable, plus the person is given tools to deal with the pressures of life in the future.
