I am the happy dog owner of a four year old rat terrier mix named Griffin. After graduating from college I lost contact with some of my friends, who moved back to their home states after graduation, and I have spent the last few months looking for work. It can get lonely sometimes, so having Griffin around has been a big help in keeping my chin up. He's my best buddy and I don't know what I'd do without him. He has also been a blessing to my family because in his four years with us he has saved us from not one but two attempted home invasions. Yes, I am definitely a dog supporter. However, my brother is not. He insists that cats are the better pet; though he won't give me any reasons why. I have nothing against cats, I think kittens pretty cute, but I just prefer dogs. How about you guys, what are your thoughts?
There is no "this or that" in my opinion, they're both great in their own ways. I have one dog and two cats, and I wouldn't give them up for the world, I have no "preference".

I worked in Kennels, many, many years ago and I was always a dog person even as a very young child,I did some dog walking last year, a lovely black Labrador called Bella, but have had cats for a few years now and I love them to bits, not so much a dog person now..........., but in general I am a big animal lover. Cats rule

I dunno... I wouldn't say there's much eating on a cat tbh. Maybe a bit stringy. Although dogs, now are another option.
On a related but more serious note, Historically I believe, in sieges and times of urban hunger, cats were always eaten before dogs. I think that answers the question as to general human perceptions of both and nothing to do with the taste.
