Tinypaws: If I don't dream of doing it, then it doesn't interest me If it is out of my comfort zone, then it has a reason it's outside of it
That said, my comfort zone isn't a narrow one. I have done lots of things many would consider unusual or even dangerous.
What I am still dreaming of is - ride the Paris Dakar (and quite hopeful that I will )
id have a similar approach to life. ive put myself in dangerous enough situations before and lived to tell the tale. life is more exciting by doing so. ive been thinking of storm chasing in the states for a long time. i really must do it soon but its not cheap. paris dakar would be interesting. dangerous enough though

Omg yes, Tornado hunting!!!!!!!! And volcanoes...
Petrified of oceans though. Have ended on high seas in a nutshell of a boat, that was NO fun
thelad2007: ive done the erupting volcano thing, highly recommend it. now the seas, that terrifies me! some truly terrifying footage of rogue waves on youtube.
Huge bodies of water can do insane things Was twice trapped on a tiny boat in storms. Papa insisted on yachting for a while, but had a habit of forgetting to check the weather report Mom and I were terrified, so when he said he wanted to buy a proper sailing yacht next to do proper ocean crossings, she told him she'd divorce him (which saved us from drowning, as he grudgingly ended buying a camper van instead )
It's incredible though, all the options out there. So many things we can do these days and experience. Don't have to go extreme, but we definitely should preserve our desire to learn. A sentient mind is a terrible thing to waste on just worrying about bills and what's going to happen next in some nation's favourite TV show...
Humanity has come a long way, and some definitely make use of that
very well said and thank you for the video. i ll have a proper look when im not tired. the volcano stuff in that video was shot by a guy called geoff mackley. id be a bit of a fan as it was from him i discovered vanuatu and the volcano of mt yasur on the island of tanna. naturally i had to go and see it. amazing experience. highly recommend it.

Shall put it on my still to do list although The Dakar holds priority, even though my heart is bleeding that it is now happening in South America. Simply not the same and the new cc restriction for bikes is also a pain. Would mean basically having to buy a bike just for the rally and I don't like the looks of the KTM 450 Rally Replica (looks being obviously important, being a female rider )
btw, I am totally aware of how impossible the dream is to actually race The Dakar officially. You need a competition history, which I am lacking and on top of that it costs something like $ 20k just for the entry. By the end of what's all needed, it's around $70k minimum. This all makes it a no chance, but the dream is there, and maybe at least one huge bike trip of similar nature to make up for it
Ex is due for end of Feb, I got him into biking back then, and think we will sit down and make some plans, still being best friends. We dreamt of doing stuff like this, so we might pick up where we left of, also as I'd not dare ride a trip like that alone.
