lifeisadream: 55 % of how much?

It depends on the business you are in.
A brewery's water bill is 8,000 a month, in two years it will be 12,000+.
Our salon uses lots of water, we have forty associates working at one time.
snowed in we need water

In business, what ever the cost of a utility is, it will be transferred to the client, to the last consumer/user.

For the Beer factories, that is another story, they own wells although regulated by the CNA( Comisión Nacional del Agua) and the cost for them is mostly the energy they use to extract the water from underground, the equipment and the maintenance.

Water use in commercial places is more expensive than the same water for the home use, when the water comes from the county's line.

Regarding to home’s use of water, here there are 4 or 5 economic zones and the cost of each m3 of water is different in each one. Low income areas pay less for the same water than residential areas. However, in some low income areas some people are irresponsible and waste the water because they pay a monthly fee regardless of how much water they use.

Water (from the county line) and electricity are really cheap here (for home's use) gas is a bit higher but not much. New contracts to get water form the county line are rather expensive though and some businesses prefer to buy the water they need to farmers, from their wells and they get it way cheaper.

Track16: There is a $23 beef roast in my freezer and it turns my guts every time I look at it.

Yeah, beef has gone up....then again, being a farmboy I would like to shout ABOUT TIME! Problem is that this increase isn't being reflected back down to the producer!

PS - Just roast it up and eat it!cheers

Do you know the conversion rate to produce protein?
Which one is higher?
Beef (red meat )

versus

Marine Protein or protein (fish, etc)from farms.

Beef...by a longshot!! But how much protein globally do fish farms produce? Most oceanic protein comes from the oceans...and the oceanic ecosystem is nearly collapsed! The oceans have been "farmed" and "polluted" to the point of collapse...beef is in no way the SOLUTION....but if every terrestrial meat eater converted to oceanic protein....the complete collapse of the oceans would only be accelerated. Let us not deflect the fact that there are simply TOO MANY humans on this planet.

How much fish and the likes could farms produce? using the water that is used for irrigation of lands to produce fish first and then the same water being used for irrigation of those lands.
