Millions of flu jabs issued by the Government contain a mercury-based preservative which is being phased out in Europe and the United States amid fears over autism and brain damage.
Four out of seven flu vaccine brands approved for NHS use contain thiomersal, a mercury-containing agent at the centre of safety concerns over its effect on brain function, particularly in children.
Twelve million vulnerable people, including pensioners and children with asthma, cancer, diabetes, heart and kidney problems, have been given flu jabs this winter.
A spokesman for the Department of Health said that medical advisers to the Government were satisfied there is no risk to adults from thiomersal and only a ' hypothetical risk' to children.
'Following recommendations both U.S. and European manufacturers are actively developing research programmes to eliminate, substitute or reduce thiomersal in vaccines,' he said.
' They have not recommended withdrawing any vaccines currently in use. This is purely a precaution.
'There is no convincing evidence of harm to anyone, including infants and pregnant women, caused by small amounts of thiomersal in flu vaccines, and the benefits of flu vaccine outweigh any hypothetical risks posed by thiomersal.'
But Jackie Fletcher of the campaign group JABS, which represents families who claim their children have been damaged by vaccines, said: 'The jury may still be out on the links between mercury in vaccines and brain damage, but surely the Government should err on the side of caution? Thiomersal-free flu jabs are available and people, particularly children, should be offered these.'

The benefits of vaccination FAR outweigh the few and far between side effects! The causes of autism are extremely complex and to put faith in tabloid articles that seek to undermine the unbelievably significant benefits to mankind from vaccination should be subject to litigation if found to be without merit! Then again,...overpopulation is indeed a problem...thanks to the countless lives saved by vaccination.

Mercury is cumulative and has been known to cause neurological issues that may not show up until later in life. I was advised by a neurologist to discontinue getting any vaccine that contains mercury.

Then do not eat fish....mercury is a natural element in the environment. A single fish will allow for mercurial levels beyond several dozen vaccinations. True, mercury, once gained, cannot be purged,...but the amount gained by a MERCURIAL vaccination is minimal,..and not all vaccines contain mercury!
Then again...cognitive function is important. But then again, I have seen people crippled by polio, and those who have died from thyphus, cholera, yellow fever, smallpox, diphtheria....people are quick to blame medical science....all 7.5 BILLION of us...ever notice how life expectancy keeps climbing? Then again....maybe it would be better if we quit fighting natures attempts to thin us out!

People too often dismiss the consequences of influenza....since the indoctrination of influenza gambit vaccines....no major epidemic has occurred. Yes, it is a guessing game...RNA based virology is an extremely complex epidemiology. Personally, if a person wishes to deny themselves vaccine against influenza,...I really do not care...but those who refuse that which is KNOWN to be epidemic in nature...well,...stay away from me! I was a very young lad when I saw someone die from smallpox....I was immunized and did not contract....and supposedly....vaccine made smallpox extinct.

Yes, have heard of that,, it's horrible, no i don't wanna go back to that years,, war and epedemic, maybe it was the war that brought out that epedemic, in times of war, hygience is secondary,, but i don't want to witness too people/kids getting killed or handicapped for a lifetime because of vaccines, we must raise questions when there's doubt,, with that solutions can be found.

No. it was not war that brought it out,...it was an attempt by nature to achieve homeostasis amongst mammalian populations. Within our species is an attempt to prolong our life expectancy and provide comfort and quality of life. If one chooses to reject this science, then. that is your choice...but if you become infected...please avoid your fellows and head off to the woods to die!
