Leaving aside politics and nationalistic pride or self patriotism etc. Which countries national anthems do you believe to be the best or most rousing ones ... based on musical composition and ability to inspire their citizens ?.
Personally, as far as musical structure is concerned, i would find it difficult to go past ... France's "La Marseillaise" and Germany's "Deutschlandlied" mainly based upon the strength and integrity of their compositions.
Would be interesting to hear other members views and opinions on this topic ... and hopefully from a wide cross-section of the world's populace too!

Hiya Single I'm not familiar with the national anthems of other countries other than Canada and the US. I will always favour the Canadian national anthem.
pedalguy59: There not many that are good, most are crap The worst is the American, then Canada's. imo. Although I did like the Soviet one.
o pedal, I thought ours was not bad. O Canada! Our home and native land! True patriot love in all thy sons command. With glowing hearts we see thee rise, The True North strong and free! From far and wide, O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. God keep our land glorious and free! O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

The lyrics are alright, it's the song itself which is...

THE JAMAICAM ANTHEM
Eternal Father, Bless our Land, Guard us with thy mighty hand, Keep us free from evil powers, Be our light through countless hours, To our leaders, great defender, Grant true wisdom from above, Justice, truth be ours forever, Jamaica, land we love, Jamaica, Jamaica, Jamaica, land we love
Teach us true respect for all, Stir response to duty’s call, Strengthen us the weak to cherish, Give us vision lest we perish, Knowledge send us Heavenly Father, Grant true wisdom from above, Justice, truth be ours forever, Jamaica, land we love, Jamaica, Jamaica, Jamaica, land we love.
