I find it a bit strange. Not only here but on any social media platform. Maybe they don't have anyone in r/l to talk to

is i think quite ok, long as they are been honest. Really no point if everybody just sat around chatting about the weather.

Some people overshare, but thats their issue. Probably when 2 people are being lovey-dovey in a blog/forum for an audience it can be a bit tedious.

I think it kind of depends on the topic, how personal that topic is to you.
I once gave out far more info than I intended, in a long running discussion, it just brought back bad memories and served no purpose, I immediately regretted posting it.
I have been more reserved since that time
Having said that, some life experiences can be of benefit to help others from avoiding the same pitfalls.
I think it's far more dangerous to use social sites like FB, where your name and personal details could be stolen and used fraudulently.

iWhen pushed up to an excessive/irelevant personal informations, it's a concrete sign of an
"Identity Crisis".... a complex wherein people pushed a conversation to a certain degree to find a space to insert informations never considered useful to other readers..

I'm an over sharer, I do try not to reveal too much that includes others though.
I'm the same way in person, I talk about the "impolite" stuff.
