A number of years ago I was seeing a guy and during the course of the evening I had done something to upset him and his response was to give me the silent treatment. I am a believer in the adage you should never go to bed angry, so I made inquiries as what was upsetting him. He told me to go to bed and stop making a scene. This puzzled me because we were alone so how was it that I was making a scene. According to yourdictionary.com making a scene means "To bring unnecessary attention to oneself, especially through a public expression of tumultuous emotion."
Many times as I read profiles I note people expressing that they have issue with those who express emotion. But as humans is that not natural that we experience and express emotion and sometimes even conflict? If one is an adult have they not developed the skill to manage emotion and conflict and if not are they really ready for a relationship?

I dislike emotions immensely so I just talk with my stick mainly.

I don't think you were making a scene, it's a valid concern. I believe in the "not going to bed angry" too, but even if they said "Go to bed, we'll talk about it in the morning." at least it shows that they are willing to talk things through. Personally, I like to talk things out, I consider myself a reasonable man and if there is an issue, I don't like to walk away from it and brush it off if it has also made the person I am with upset too, that's just plain ignorance in my opinion. I am a self expressive person but then again, I can be blunt at times too.

I think that the person that got upset at you, has insecurities and if they can't talk about what is on their mind, what is the point of being in a relationship if the communication isn't there?

I agree wholeheartedly. There's no point in having a relationship without communication. Even if it's an argument, it's still communication. Some people just can't deal with confrontations of any kind due to past experience. Not knowing what's wrong is much worse than eve having a negative conversation or an argument.
