To what extent, money plays a role in happy life? Do poverty- striken people have happy life like rich people? Is it possible to be poor and yet happy?

Money in the colonies equates to beaver pelts. I have never been able to find enough beaver to keep me happy. Then again, one REALLY good beaver is worth more than all the muskrats one can trap!
(PS - Canadian joke....just ignore if it doesn't make sense!)

To what extent do you class people as poor . When my marriage ended I lost my house it was sold so I got money from it . At my age I couldn't go back to buying at almost fifty on my low wage . Ok in Australia there are rich mega rich middle class working middle class poor working poor . Now I'm having issues with my employer legal so I won't mention that . But some of us older guys know we are working poor . I did try to get a loan to rebuy my house . Think like the first time they almost choked on my wage .they over valued my house it didn't sell well I moved on . We working poor seem to be credit risks 21 years with one employer low wage credit risk So I lost my house decided to rent I rent from a charity very close to the CBD . If like my first buy I'd end up in the really down trodden areas crime is high people aren't nice .
So to answer to your question I'm happier being poor yes as long as I pay rent I have a house to live in if I earn too much money im out the door if rent from elsewhere . Employers hold wages over our heads as a tool As a worker not paid since late December normally I'd rush back . Lucky I had money my employer didn't know about and seeing I'm injured government pays low benefits. And employer wants me back now 100 percent I won't lie I may never be 100 percent what happens then Poor get poorer Rich get richer
I'm not quite Henry David Thoreau, but last Christmas season friends took me out of this little Bugtussle town on a nice vacation. When we went into one of the larger cities, (guess I've been Grizzly Adams a tad too long...) my heart pounded, I got excited, it was SO SWELL. Why? Good Heavens--THE STORES!!!!!!!!!They actually make cool stuff people can BUY!! That week, I had it all--money, happiness, a condo with a beach view--money may not be able to buy happiness, but it's way ahead of what's in second place!!
