I would have thought it would still be a pre-requisite to be able to drive to have even a self-driving car

There will always be times you will need to take control - being able to drive would be kinda useful then laugh

Well anything that reduces speed, and reckless driving will be welcome.

Be great for long journeys, relax and have a snooze whilst the car takes you to your destination. laugh

interesting subject matter, but i think it ll be a long time before self driving vehicles will become the norm, mainly due to ethical, political, economical, etc etc etc reasons. it will be hard to fully convince the public that this is a better way of dealing with our transport issues. professional drivers will certainly have issues with it! i have been informed though that commercial planes mainly fly themselves.

I wonder how the self driving car would react to feisty young Heifer leaping over a ditch in front of it, on a back road in the midlands.laugh

How about if the heifer jumped over the ditch in front of the car, and there was also a combine meeting it head on?

some of this technology is actually very impressive. theyre finding in certain situations, the automated systems are reacting quicker than humans. radar technology is extremely impressive right now but im not sure im ready for self driving vehicles just yet

Restaurants in China were forced to shut down recently due to incompetent robot waiters, wouldn't be very confident about self driving cars either wave

hahaha ah look into the technology, it really is impressive. i think it should be available to all right now, as it would probably save many lives. it doesnt necessarily have be in total self driving cars.

Another way of dwindling the human brain
And making us lazy and more controllable

A lot of people would end up out of work

Hahaha had a good laugh reading all your replies very interesting concept tho isn't it ,,men lie to be in control at the wheel ,,,,yes women too but especially men. ,lol

I spoke with my mother about this today I said I'm going to start saving up for the bmw self driving car that will be out in 2021 ,but I told her I may start to learn the rules of the road and surely be able to drive just in case the technology break down and I have to take control,

Her answer was the cars might not be made for that but just operated similar to a drone ,lol

Public drivers may be no more in the future ,,old ,young all in cars go where they want ,

The cars can be shared liked loaned out also in the communities ,,mad an' t it but will be happen .
I'll do that ring of Kerry yet in my own car ,??
