One2note: Watched a documentary about the Clinton / trump election campaign & found it disturbing how a country with so much relevance in this world, will be left in the hands of one of those candidates.. My initial reaction, after hearing different opinions, was that the USA has become a third world country , with money....

To elaborate.. Clinton, having witnessed her husband, have affairs with women running into the hundreds, if not , thousands, shows how morals & family values are vanishing in a country that sets the trend for the rest of the free world.
And Trump, who confesses to be rich beyond belief , yet pays no taxes, and has the audacity to say that he is clever enough to avoid them.

These two are result of the path America has been following and I must say I am not surprised to where it took them to...

One2note: Fair point, but I was leaning more towards the moral aspects.. Lack of family values, moral fibre, helping the old & needy. Etc etc.. Non of the candidates have touched on the important issues of , what makes a great leader.. Shaming each other doesn't constitute a good leader, it just encourages the nation to undermine any humanitarian values in an already "me me me society.
I agree with you on this line of thinking. The moral fiber of my country has been dying for quite some time. Decades. So this has not just cropped up during the election blues But tis a shame that this is how we are presenting ourselfs during election. At least we are in the know about who and what we will be getting and will not be so blind sided. please

And I agree with you also.

What not being seen with these post is that this is not secluded to The United States. This has been going on world wide for decades. We just have amusing elections this year to bring us to your face. Start looking around and you will see the moral decay has been following the same road all around you. So actually we all are on the path to destruction.

This is not a direct attack at the people of the states.. Talking to many people from your country, the general feeling is , not to vote for the best candidate , but the least if the 2 evils!
How can a country that is respected worldwide , be left with 2 clowns who cannot be trusted , let alone , being in touch with the their own people?

I love the Americans, they're generally good people: friendly, mannerly and funny. Bit shocked and disappointed to be honest though that Trump managed to get so far and it will affect relations with other countries as well if he (heaven forbid!) wins.

I'm thinking too that like Brexit, with British people looking for Irish passports, there might be a lot of Americans looking for Canadian and other passports if Trump gets in, and maybe in Hilary C's case too.

What a turnaround that would be for countries that have emigrated to the U.S. in the past, if that happened.

Imagine!

Yes there are definitely plenty. Whatever the outcome, the best we can do is make the most of our own lives. "Live, love, laugh and be happy...." or in the words of Morecambe and Wise
"Bring me sunshine, bring me laughter...!"

Oh well whaddya know! the sun is shining now (all be it watery sunshine!) wave

It won't matter as after the take over by either figurehead, and all the disgust they have generated no one will be around to effectively oppose them. After a lifetime in writing about politics, especially in the US, it is as von Clausewitz so apply phrased it,"Politics is the womb in which war(s) is developed". I see another major war within 6 months to a year at most. Makes one wonder how many gullible good ones are left that will still cling to the old outdated belief of 'my country, right or wrong...' I will join up to die", when in reality, neither candidate will truly represent any " genuinely good Americans"let alone the entire country.
When the war drums start, it may be wiser to think which is more important, an external war started by your own so called leaders, or a country free of the vilest forms of total corruption allowed to grow for decades and still manages to get even worse day by day...sigh
