TheRedSquirrel87: And when I use the world liberal I use it in its completest sense. Whether that's the working class liberalism of the city(Marxism), or middle class liberalism from the city(homo economicus, rationalism, diversity)these are all urban intellectual ideas from the rootless cerebral.
Blood and soil beliefs such as conservatism and nationalism come from the country. Non-rational, instinctive, earthy beliefs which concern themselves with the truths of being human over the ideals of an ideology. The main problem with urban intellectual beliefs is they try to make us more than human having lost all touch with human nature in an urban environment.
Interestingly, however, the best science of today is telling the urban intellectuals that the earthy types were right all along. Humanity is non-rational and it's emotions and loyalties cannot be purged from every pore through the power of pure reason. What will the cerebrals do when all the rational evidence is telling them that they are wrong to be so rational and cerebral? Can they spare the ego to adapt? Will they accept that the thick people were right all along?
In the top paragraph I'm talking about the politics of the establishment: social liberalism on the left and classical liberalism on the right. All of the establishment is the product of urban intellectuals.
In the next paragraph I'm talking about Donald Trump who makes absolutely no apology for the anti-rationalism of his campaign and wins successes simply by understanding what human beings are.
TheRedSquirrel87: The great thing about thick people from the countryside is that no matter how stupid the things they do, no matter how many mistakes they make, the life there finds a way: This is one reason why the Irish have weathered the recession so well.
The bad thing about cosmopolitans and urban-dwellers is their bright ideas and sophisticated schemes are rotten on the inside. Urban intellectual ideas(liberal ideas)need only to be knocked for the whole rotten structure to fall in on itself. When things don't go to plan a liberal society bursts into pieces like a frog. City ways can't weather a storm.
