Odisseo: Cast a cold eye;
on life on death;
horseman, pass by
one of the top classical poets of the 20th century. A very introverted, yet socially capable man.

"I will arise and go now--
And go to Innisfree-
And build a cabin there, of clay and wattles made:
Nine bean-rows will I have there,
A hive for the honeybee,
And live alone in the bee-loud glade..."

Wine comes in at the mouth
And Love comes in at the eye,
That's all we shall know for truth
Before we grow old and die,
I lift the glass to my mouth
I loo at you and sigh sigh

NEVER GIVE ALL THE HEART

NEVER give all the heart, for love
Will hardly seem worth thinking of
To passionate women if it seem
Certain, and they never dream
That it fades out from kiss to kiss;
For everything that's lovely is
But a brief, dreamy, kind delight.
O never give the heart outright,
For they, for all smooth lips can say,
Have given their hearts up to the play.
And who could play it well enough
If deaf and dumb and blind with love?
He that made this knows all the cost,
For he gave all his heart and lost.

Love Yeats thumbs up

"Go, unquiet wanderer,
And gather the Glasnevin coverlet
About your head till the dust stops your ear,
The time for you to taste of that salt breath
And listen at the corners has not come;
You had enough of sorrow before death--
Away, away! You are safer in the tomb."

Always in mood for romantic poetry, sorry

A poet's mouth be silent, for in truth
We have no gift to set a statesman right;
He has had enough of meddling who can please
A young girl in the indolence of her youth,
Or an old man upon a winter's night.

"Where the wave of moonlight glosses
The dim gray sands with light,
Far off by furthest Rosses
We foot it all the night,
Weaving olden dances
Mingling hands and mingling glances
Till the moon has taken flight;
To and fro we leap
And chase the frothy bubbles,
While the world is full of troubles
And is anxious in its sleep.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand."

Beautiful quotes.

I've been to visit the Isle of Innisfree. I can see why it inspired Yeats.

I've also visited his tombstone with that famous epitaph

"Cast a cold Eye

On Life on Death

Horseman, pass by!"
