Today was the proudest day of my life as a parent.
It was the graduation ceremony at the "royal festival hall" & seeing my daughter collect her accolade made me feel so proud.. It made all the years of sacrifice worthwhile..

Are you proud parents & what have your children achieved that has made you proud of them?

I am not a parent but having a degree myself earned after I retired, I am surprised that you never stated it, and interested to know what the subject matter was.

So happy for you and congratulations to your daughter. I am a proud parent and grandparent. They have accomplished many things in life but the thing I am most proud of is they have accomplished how to walk through life and be happy without hurting others. And they have good family values. Their happiness has always been my wish. beer

Yes, its proof that you did well and not have to visit them in prison. My eldest lad bought himself a new tractor and trailer for 140,000 earlier this year now he knows he need work flat out to pay it off, my eldest Daughter is a hospital manager and has done all manner of medical work since she was 16, my other 2 also are hard at it and all have their own houses, l like to say l never had a hand in it all because l love to give all the credit to them.

The thing that struck me most, apart from the obvious, was how many Muslim girls were able to graduate .. Would they have had this opportunity in their native countries? Probably not & that's what makes England a many other western countries such a great place to live.

MikeD12: Good - No need for the snide remark I am genuinely happy for her - Maybe she should do her Post Grad studies for a PhD in Industrial and Business law as it's going to be needed now we are out of the EU and hit your pocket even harder. One of my apprentices from the Late 60s and 70's did just that after he got his first law degree having done 12 years as a Fitter Machinist. He's Barrister with a PPL and part owns two Biplanes as a hobby

She has been accepted for a job for a trainee commercial marketing manager for itv but I'm trying to persuade her to do the masters degree( LPC)
It's a one year course costing £14,000 which I said I would fund, but she doesn't want to be a burden in me anymore & wants to work for a year to fund it.

Congratulations applause I know the feeling.

My proudest day was when my daughter graduated from the Police Academy. My second proudest is when after 25 years she retired and put her uniform away and is now living a fulfilling life. very happy cartwheel cartwheel
