What kind of wood is that? How did you attach the stone? It looks like you cut across the grain therefore I would expect the ring to split very easily.

So I gather that unless you have the bucks to pay for an expensive ring, there is not much point in proposing with a cheaper ring.

Thats a harsh reality for people like me who could never afford a diamond ring.

Assuming a boyfriend proposes marriage to his girlfriend (and only one) it does not matter the ring or any ring.

many people go with simple gold bands. Not that expensive. Engraved with something special....that's it.

I hated wearing a ring with the diamonds and such. It snagged on things and it slid around on my finger when my hands were wet. Yuck.
