My gums hurt so bad that I contacted my socialworker to contact a nurse to summon a dentist to set up an appointment to
see him so he can get rid of this annoying pain out of my teeth. Have any of you guys experienced that in your dentures???

I have not Mister bookworm. I opened this thread and thought I had had ever kind of dental problem known to man. I know I must of bought my dentist several new mercedes. blues Yet when I read your situation it made me think of a friend of mine who lost her legs a while back and she still has pain in them. blues I don't know why this would not apply to teeth also. It is called phantom limb syndrome. This is the link to tell you a little about it.

Luckily, I have no experience with dentures but I'd like to suggest going a different route.
Get about 6 dental implants inserted for your uppers and six more in your lowers. Then have someone build a denture that attaches to the implants and not your gums. Cost, after implants, is about $30k for each upper/lower denture.

With that being said may I add if you don't have dental insurance it is fairly cheap you might wanna consider it. It might cover some of the simple stuff in a procedure such as this. And help save a few dollars.

Why not just get full upper and lower implants and save $40k? Full implants (complete set of teeth) are around $20k. grin

I can't disagree about saving money, but the dentist providing a complete set of dental implants has to be working out of a Walmart store. laugh

thumbs up The Max annual benefit provided by my dental coverage is only $1,900 but that can cover a lot.

Wait on the sale and get 'em cheaper! idea

My dentist (doesn't work at Wallyworld) specializes in implants and told me it's better to go full implants rather than partials. Reason, is because partials cost more in the long run and as more teeth having to be removed, partials will need to replace them.

Which reminds me.. To the OP, have you had your gums x-rayed to check for tooth fragments under them? Sometimes those can be overlooked and can cause excruciating pain with dentures.

I one time had to have some dental work done and it was really expensive (to me that is over ten dollars) so it was close to the end of the year so I did half one year and the other at the beginning of the next year. My dentist is fixing to retire and I am scared now. blues the new people are not so gentle.

Psssst! I know of this bank in a secluded section of town having minimum security...... devil laugh

Having a good dental plan would cover most, if not all of the expenses.
Fortunately I'm not in need of dentures or implants just yet, but the further I age it'll eventually become inevitable. I prefer not to go dentures if possible, but there's a stipulation with implants having the necessity of strong bones needed to support them. One could be denied implants if they do not qualify.
