calmheartseeks: As others have said, I don't see how we can "choose" a soul mate.
It's just a two-way attraction.
I have met one I thought was close, but I wouldn't say he was a "perfect" soul-mate.
And my mind didn't want to want him.

Well you have to be mentally in love as well, which is where
I fell short some years back.

When I said my mind didn't want to want him, I meant that he had personality characteristics that I knew would not be good for me in a long term relationship.
Still, there was this really strong attraction.

True, most of them did. The sad thing was he so wanted to be an actor.
I loved his songs though...not all of them, but a lot.
