There are very few gov northern Europe where there is a more balanced and fair system between gov and the people.

bogart already mentioned much of what I've only touched the surfaces on.
I like more history to go by but at a glance with other countries and regions I've read about, it always seems the woes might be more government based. It wouldn't be a surprise there. The U.S. isn't the only country by far where the largest problems might generate more from the top down.
Throw in the global competition for good measure.
I'd partially like to know more about it. I would rely more on people from the region as to what and why. I think they would have better ideas on how to solve some of the situations too.

A helicopter attacks Venezuela's Supreme Court, a day after armed civil groups attacked the Parliament, following a clash between some MPs and members of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB, militarized police) inside the institution .
As a result, the session of the Parliament was interrupted and the "colectivos" were presented at the door and launched pyrotechnic rockets and other artifacts into the building. As this group of civilians have attacked the facade and threatened to enter "violently", Parliamentarians and workers remain locked inside the Palace.
President Maduro have warned that he is prepared to "achieve with weapons what he does not achieve with votes".

A lone capitalist country would at some point most likely starve in a world of socialism. Part of the problem for Venezuela is having the entire planet against them. Nevertheless there seems to be something missing in the Venezuelan economy. Man isn't a greedy pig and only a greedy pig, but there has to be some kind of incentive.
