Sorry you feel that way hug
Maybe a visit to your doctor might help. The days of mind altering tablets have gone. They have moved on a great deal and I think you may be surprised.
It is hard to deal with on your own.
A friend of mine went through it and a visit to the doctors changed it all for him. bouquet

Yeah, I can relate to that. Happens at any age. As Shakespeare would say... The world is your oyster and, imo, there are unlimited positive opportunities out there for you... wave

Lisa, you came to the right place. Once you are in the forums people will help you with suggestions. Some of them are good such as what Rebel2 suggested.

Humour is a great way to kick depression in the pants and the folks here will help you. That's because most of them are nuts, crazier then a can of cashews giggle

PLEASE stay here and post in a thread that interests you.

You are NOT worthless, you are just feeling down right now.

There is a great way to treat that. It's called laughing. You can do it Lisa. hug

Knock, knock.

it's true, this place does help. my suggestion is, do little things. wash a few dishes, do a small load of laundry. when things seem overwhelming, little things like that take a bit off of your plate. try not to dwell on things. for me, certain songs trigger unpleasant memories. recognize triggers and stay away.
i think of my bouts of depression as storms. the storm always ends.
hope this helps.

The following may help, although there aren't any guarantees about most things: (I am allowing that you do those first 'urgent' necesseties!)

1. Make your bed. (This gives you a sense of accomplishment at the beginning of the day).
2. Put on day clothes right away (perhaps after a vigorous shower, and-- SHOES. (This tells your control system that you are ready for the day).
3. Make a short game plan for the day. Put it on paper, if you must.
4. Eat at least a small, protein-rich breakfast, and for sure, a 6-8 ounce glass of orange juice. This physiologically preps you for the day.

If working, get up in plenty of time to get completely ready. Allow for bus/cab/freeway time. (Being hurried and late "crashes" your sense of well-being).

Try these.

I hate that feeling. And for me it usually is when I am feeling sorry for myself. Like has been said sometimes a trip to the doctor will help. Since I know what makes me feel that way I usually can get out of it by thinking of every thing I have to be grateful for. I don't usually suffer from depression. And I am always hopeful so I always see the point in getting up. It might be the day professor
The day for what I haven't a clue. giggle
Lisalou to me you are not worthless. And if you really feel this way then please check with a medical doctor. There could be a medical reason causing it. And it might make you feel better wave

A good first step is to visit your GP, he can put you in touch with support groups, and if need be professionals in this area.

Good luck.

Have you spoken to a doctor about this. I am a regular suffer of depression and there are things that can be done for it. You already taken the first step in acknowledging there is a problem, the 2nd step should be to talk to someone about it and see what your options are.

Interacting on the forums, has helped many people overcome their insecurities.. Not because of any advice given but just by listening to some of their thoughts & comments, you'll realise how normal you really are.conversing laugh
