What are your views on people who show up without invited? They arrived with their family, and you hear about it a few mins before they arrive, from someone else.

In my home, if they are not invited, they don't get in the door

Hey, lock the door, move the car to a neighbors house.. turn off all the lights and don't answer the door.laugh Seriously, even if you don't like them, it's the price we pay for being social animals. There are all kinds of excuses you can use to get away... get ready to go out before they get there and tell them it's an inconvienient time... you are on your way out. etc.. You don't have to play along.wink

Heck it's xmas...the more the merrier. Welcome them. You all might end up having a blast. And just explain later to the person who brought them that the next time you would like notice ahead. But it's xmas and rude to not let them in..cheers cheers cheers

well I say anything goes over the holidays but I do appreciate knowing people are coming over ... If they just show up I would be a gracious hostess of course ....

I would never show up without being invited though.

not a bad idea, only one thing, someone else can let them in....that's where the problem is.....people don't appreciate that you work really hard and you are tired , so you want to sleep in a little later.

If someone goes out of their way to visit me then I would be a gracious hostess. However they would have to take me as I am..dog hair and dust etc..

If its people I know like family and friends then I have no problems with it.

But what I don't really like is when a friend or family member will show up at my door with a stranger I never met uninvited because I prefer to have my space neat when having company and having kids well that is not always the case lol

Like for example my daughters dad. He will show up out unannounced to see her (which again that is okay with me) but sometimes will bring a friend of his that I never met and that makes me feel uncomfortable.

It all depends on my mood and day I guess.

I understand where you are coming from with that, because that happened too when my kid was much younger....I guess he just wants to show everybody the baby......not stopping to think maybe you need notice in advance. I use to have to serve dinner to unannounced relative of his, and mind you there wasn't much food to be served at that point.

These folks that are showing up at my place are not my friends or relatives, but is the relative of someone else in my home. You know what's funny.... after I started cleaning up, or decide to mop the floor, I suddenly get this knock on the dooor, and I am thinking who is that, only to find that it's one of these relatives, who had to travel a good distamnce to get here. So you know right away that someone else knows about it. They don't know me enough, that if I ever get angry, everyone will be out the door faster than how they came in.
